Day 1: Fes – Ifrane – Azrou – Midelt – Ziz Valley – Rissani – Merzouga:
3 days Fes Merzouga desert trip begins with a drive towards the Atlas Mountains, with a stop at Ifrane to view the famed cedar forest, which is home to the Berber apes. We’ll then proceed to Midelt through the Tiz Ntalghamt Mountain Pass and the Ziz Gorge (where we’ll stop for photos and some local mint tea).
Our journey takes us via the Ziz Valley, Erfoud, and Rissani, an oasis. When we arrive in the Erg Chebbi sand dunes, we will spend the night in a Riad.
Day 2: Tour around Erg Chebbi Desert & Camel Trekking:
Today’s 4×4 journey takes us to the Sahara desert. You will visit Rissani local souk as well as Khamlia village, which is famed for Gnawa music. We encounter Nomads who live in the desert. We’ll be riding camels to Merzouga camp later today. We traverse the Erg Chebbi dunes and enjoy the sunset over Merzouga. Later we’ll eat a traditional supper while listening to Berber music. At Merzouga, we sleep in desert tents.
Day 3: Merzouga – Midelt – Ifrane – Fes:
After seeing the desert sunrise, we conclude our private Fez desert trip and proceed to Midelt. We go through Erfoud, Errachidia, and Azrou. The private driver will drop you off at your Fez hotel. where the 3 days Fes Merzouga desert trip end with Moroccan activities.
